We came very close to getting a TV documentary commission from National Geographic & Discovery, Animal Planet. However, although the development executives 'loved Mike & Greg, the science and the scientific collaboration...they felt the project was ultimately too risky'.

We have secured scientific support including DNA sample training & subsequent independent laboratory analysis.

TV & Book Testimonials:

1)"Mike and Greg have a fascinating project here that would certainly make for absorbing viewing on TV. Whether or not they manage to run their giant snake to ground, it speaks volumes for their strength of character that they are determined to explore the furthest reaches of the Amazon to get to the bottom of this story"

Jonathan Schütz, Founder, Curly Lizard Films

2)Thanks so much for speaking with me earlier today, it was great meeting you and Mike over the phone.  I've got to say, having showed everyone in the development team all the information you guys have compiled, we're all pretty excited.  I think your story has the makings of a really compelling documentary and we'd love to speak to you more about pitching it to the BBC and Channel 4 with your blessing.

It would be great to get this commissioned and fulfil all of your ambitions for your second expedition.  I love that your story has elements of travelogue, specialist scientific knowledge, cultural anthropology and a human interest family angle.  It is certainly a programme I would like to make.

Michael Beilenson, Firecracker Films

3)Hi Greg

My name is Heesh and i'm a British writer.

I've been going to Iquitos since 2003 as i have a fondness of the Amazon, fishing and the wildlife.

I've been writing for a few years and have recently sold four feature films and a TV drama series.
I came across your work when searching snakes for a book that i am writing, that is based on a story i heard in 2005 from a snake keeper (Javier from Park Boas near the Nanay).

He told me his brother who also runs a snake Park further down the Amazon had seen a large snake like creature where the Nanay meets the Amazon (not far from Iquitos) and he told me many local stories of big beasts and folklore of the Loreto region.

I also heard of a story of a hominid water dwelling creature not far from Iquitos and i am happy to give you the details should you be interested.

I thought you might like to interview Javier for your research

I was planning to put these stories in my new book and also maybe include a story about you and your fathers search for the Yucamama. My book at the moment is a novel about a Peruvian local which intertwines folklore and shamanic magic in a romanticised quest for knowledge of the greater world.

I am writing to ask if you are in the Amazon now and how it is going and whether you can share any research for my book. Also if you are at all interested in working together on any written projects, or writing for a TV documentary ??

All the best and i hope to hear from you soon

Heesh, UK

Mike Warner: Full disclosure Part 2

Mike & Greg's ground expedition in August 2010 (the dry season) has been delayed indefinitely until funding is available to make it happen.

Now that the key locations have been identified, all that remains is to finalise a ground plan that provides the conclusive photographic & DNA evidence without anyone getting killed or injured.

The expedition aims to collect conclusive photographic evidence & DNA samples (for scientific verification) in at least 4 locations where we have established Yacumama activity. No research team has ever established established this level of 'hard evidence' before an expedition in search of the giants snakes of the Amazon.
